2nd Training on GIS for the Integrated Transport System in the Arab States

UNESCWA and IsDB in cooperation with UNECE are organizing a 2nd Training workshop on ITSAS GIS, on 18-19 December 2019.
A first workshop, organized on 10-11 July 2019, tested the applicability and the maneuverability of the GIS tool towards officials representing the Ministries of Transport in the Arab region in terms of data filling, updating and analyzing and displays of query results, and seek the feedback of the participants on the feasibility of the approach. The workshop participants recommended the preparation of a user manual as well as the organization of a 2nd training workshop to assist ESCWA Member States in updating their GIS maps (CSC).
The 2nd technical workshop aims at achieving the following objectives:

- To Review and validate the data entered by focal points
- To complete participants training on GIS tools to fill and update data online.
- To obtain participants’ comments and feedback On the GIS online tool and inform about the difficulties faced in filling the attributes.
- To obtain feedback from participants on the applicability and maneuverability of the approach to develop full featured GIS tools apt to be interconnected in the future.
- To populate the mega template data after cleaning and finalize it for sharing among stakeholders
