26 February 2015	ARAB MIDDLE CLASS: Measurement and Role in Driving Change	Hope for change swept across the Arab region in 2011. It was driven by a middle class newly awake to the sense that longstanding trade-offs were no longer delivering on the promise of a better life. However, disillusionment and turmoil followed the popular uprisings, along with moves to restore the status quo.
7 March 2019	The 25th RCM and R-UNSDG	The Regional Coordination Mechanism (RCM) and Regional United Nations Sustainable Development Group (R-UNSDG) meeting is held on 7-8 April 2019 in Beirut, with the R-UNSDG segment taking place on 7 April (all day) and the RCM segment on 8 April (afternoon only). The meeting is followed by the 2019 Arab Forum on Sustainable Development between 9 and 11 April.
29 November 2019	Review recurrent and non-recurrent publications on regional integration and trade reforms	The Expert Group Meeting is organized by ESCWA in cooperation with UNCTAD. The participants included high-level economists and experts from Arab universities and think tanks and representatives of Arab regional and sub-regional organizations such as the League of Arab States and the Arab Maghreb Union. The meeting aimed to critically review the drafts of the recurrent publication on the third edition of assessing Arab economic integration and the non-recurrent publication on trade costs in the Arab region. The meeting discussed also the findings of the World Investment Report 2019 prepared by UNCTAD.
9 June 2021	7th Session of Arab Climate Outlook Forum (ArabCOF) 4th Session of Gulf Cooperation Council Climate Outlook Forum (GCC-COF)	The Arab Climate Outlook Forum (ArabCOF), cutting across multiple Regional Associations, was established following the decision of the Executive Office of the Council of Minsters responsible for Meteorology and Climate, under the League of Arab States, endorsed in April 2017. The Scoping Meeting for the Establishment of the ArabCOF held in Amman, October 2014 agreed on the following key objectives of the forum: • Generate consensus outputs on seasonal forecasts (1-2 per year) and to carry out regional climate change assessments.
21 March 2016	ESCWA celebration of the World Day of Social Justice	ESCWA, in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization office in Beirut (UNESCO) and the Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND), organized a special event to commemorate the World Day of Social Justice, on Friday, 20 February 2015 at the United Nations House in Beirut.

24 August 2016	Mechanisms to Advance Innovation for Inclusive Sustainable Development in the Arab Region	The Expert Group Meeting identified and discussed strategic options and mechanisms that would be useful for bridging gaps in the Arab region innovation arena.
12 April 2017	Expert Group Meeting on the Study: “The State of Gender Justice in the Arab Region: Challenges and Opportunities”	The Arab region shows a gap in achieving gender justice. It is a determining fact that women in the Arab region still face discrimination and injustices de jure and de facto. Gender injustice is still experienced as a process and as an outcome. Women have limited access and control over resources and decent living conditions, and face institutional biasness that hamper the realization of their full citizenship and the full enjoyment of their rights.
