The  workshop provides a space for knowledge exchange and peer learning on experiences and success stories during and after the VNR process, including challenges and corresponding solutions

ESCWA is organizing a virtual workshop series targeting government officials and researchers in the Arab region who are working in the area of climate change impact assessment and analysis using geospatial information system (GIS) tools, particularly in the water and agricultural sectors.

The Workshop will focus on, inter alia, building national capacities for the implementation of the Framework for Development of Environment Statistics FDES 2013 which was endorsed by the United Nations Statistical Commission at its forty-fourth session in 2013 as the framework for strengthening environment statistics programmes in countries.
 
The Workshop will also provide training on selected topics of environment statistics, in particular on waste and water statistics, as well on environmentally-related SDG indicators and climate change statistics.

This regional network shall focus on creating an intellectual sharing process to bridging the local knowledge gap and foster academic expertise and scientific findings to support progress towards sustainable development in the region, including supporting evidence-based action by the UN system.
