A form of graph used to depict ranges of variation in successive intervals of time.
For example, daily price variation might be represented by taking time intervals of one month on the abscissa and, at each monthly point, showing the maximum and minimum.

For example, daily price variation might be represented by taking time intervals of one month on the abscissa and, at each monthly point, showing the maximum and minimum price attained during the previous month. The maxima can be joined by a line to provide a graph of high points; and similarly for the minima; or, for each month, the high and low points may be joined by a vertical bar.

رسم بياني لتحديد التقلبات التي تطرأ خلال الفترات الزمنية المتلاحقة. لنأخذ مثلاً التقلبات اليومية في الأسعار التي تمثل بفترة شهر على الإحداثي السيني، وتظهر كل نقطة التي تمثل فترة شهر السعر الأقصى والأدنى خلال الشهر الماضي. يمكن جمع السعر الأقصى بخط لتقديم بيان يظهر نقاطاً مرتفعة. وينطبق الأمر نفسه على الحدّ الأدنى. يمكن أيضاً جمع النقاط العليا والدنيا بخط عموديّ.
