This report reviews the situation of women’s rights and gender equality in Arab countries, and discusses the links between sustainable development, economic growth and inequalities from a gender perspective. It provides recommendations on specific policy changes needed in the Arab region to uphold women’s rights, achieve gender equality and justice, and advance the development process, focusing on policies in productive sectors, wage and tax, social protection and trade and investment.
