The renewable energy sources sector in Serbia, apart from hydro-energy, is still in its early phase of development but the country has set clear political goals to use renewable energy, mitigate the effects of climate change and achieve sustainable development.

The present case study aims to provide decisionmakers, project developers and other actors involved in the renewable energy sector with an analysis of the renewable energy policies and regulatory frameworks that were applied in Serbia to support this strategy, and deduce the lessons learned from that experience.
