2017

Within the framework of the concept of transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to sustainable development adopted for 2007–2024, it was stated that the sustainable economic development of Kazakhstan would be achieved through supporting the ecologically effective production of energy, including the use of renewable sources and secondary raw materials.

The present case study aims to provide decisionmakers, project developers and other actors involved in the renewable energy sector with an analysis of the renewable energy policies and regulatory frameworks that were applied in Kazakhstan to support this strategy, and deduce the lessons learned from that experience.
