This brochure describes the process followed to develop the Action Plan on Gender Equality and Women’s empowerment in National Institutions in the Arab region in view of strengthening their capacity to mainstream gender equality in their processes, rules and regulations. It presents ESCWA’s successful experience in mainstreaming gender equality and women’s empowerment in it processes and the steps taken to transfer this experience and related knowledge and lessons learned to national institutions in the Arab region to build and capitalize on it. It also sheds light on the experience of the Jordanian National Commission Women to pilot the roll out and implementation of the Action Plan.
