11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Commission's 28th Session Continues Discussions, Reviews Economic and Social Developments in the Arab Region	The 28th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) today continued its discussions, and assessed latest findings on economic and social developments in the Arab region. High-level government officials from the member countries of ESCWA were presented with the “Survey of Economic and Social Developments in the Western Asia Region” which covers 2013 and early 2014.

11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Regional Commission's Session Expresses Solidarity with Palestinian People	The 28th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) continued its discussions this afternoon in Tunis and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people. Participants discussed the regular work of ESCWA at the service of the Palestinian people, which includes technical support to civil servants and advisory services to government officials. Participants also proposed additional activities by ESCWA particularly in the field of raising awareness and holding Israel accountable for its violations of international law.
11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	ESCWA 28th Ministerial Session Kicks Off, Discusses Social Justice in Arab Region	Arab ministers and senior regional and foreign officials took part today in the opening of the 28th ministerial session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), a key regional event hosted by the Tunisian government, and held under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr. Moncef Al Marzouki. In the opening session, Arab and foreign diplomats and senior officials listened to statements that echoed Arab concerns and aspirations towards a better tomorrow guided by social justice.
11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Ministerial Session Gathers Eminent Thinkers, Discusses Social Justice and the New Development Approach	Eminent Arab thinkers met today, at the 28th ministerial session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), held in Tunis, to discuss the theme “Social justice in the policies of Arab States”. The first ministerial panel tackled the topic “Social justice and the new development approach”, discussing the absence of consensus over the definition of social justice and social protection; and the importance of social, economic and political participation as tools for achieving social justice.
11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	Ministerial Session Discusses Economic Policies in Support of Social Justice	The second panel of the 28th ministerial session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) convened this afternoon to discuss the topic “Economic policies in support of social justice”, examining the connections between economics and social justice, and the impact of various economic and fiscal policies on social and economic development from an equity and justice perspective.

11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	الوزيران حمادة ومعوض يطلقان مشروعاً لافتاً لـ"إسكوا"	برعاية وحضور وزير الاتصالات اللبناني السيد مروان حمادة وحضور وزيرة الشؤون الاجتماعية ‏اللبنانية السيدة نايلة معوض، تعقد الأمين التنفيذي لـ"إسكوا" السيدة مرفت تلاوي مؤتمراً صحفياً تطلق خلاله ‏مشروع المدرسة الإلكترونية المتنقلة لخدمة جنوب لبنان الذي تنفذه "إسكوا" بالتعاون مع مؤسسة "سرادار" ‏وذلك في تمام الساعة 11:00 من صباح يوم الأربعاء 18 كانون الثاني/يناير 2006. ‏ ويشارك في المؤتمر الصحفي نخبة من الشخصيات الدبلوماسية والإعلامية وممثلون عن منظمات الأمم ‏المتحدة في لبنان بالإضافة إلى ممثلين عن القطاعين الخاص والعام ومنظمات إقليمية ودولية. ‏
11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2014	إطلاق مشروع المدرسة الإلكترونية المتنقلة لخدمة جنوب لبنان	اعتبرت السيدة مرفت تلاوي، وكيل الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة والأمين التنفيذي لـ"إسكوا"، أن مشروع المدرسة الإلكترونية المتنقلة هو نتيجة جهود مشتركة بين منظمات الأمم المتحدة في لبنان وسفارات عربية وأجنبية ومنظمات أهلية معنية والقطاعين المصرفي والخاص. كلام تلاوي جاء خلال مؤتمر صحفي عقدته اليوم لإطلاق مشروع المدرسة الإلكترونية المتنقلة لخدمة جنوب لبنان الذي تنفذه "إسكوا" بالتعاون مع مؤسسة "سرادار" وذلك برعاية وزير الاتصالات اللبناني السيد مروان حمادة ممثلاً بمدير عام الوزارة السيد ناجي اندراوس.
