Workshop on Management Skills for Iraqis |
Within the Context of the UNDP project "Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening of Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works" in Iraq, the Unit for Emerging and Conflict Related Issues of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing four workshops on "Management Skills for Iraqis" in Amman, Jordan which will be held from 17 November till 19 December 2007. |

Workshop on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics for ESCWA region |
The civil registration system is considered the best source for generating accurate, reliable and timely vital statistics. Not all national civil registration systems are fully in place in terms of coverage of vital events, effectiveness and their linkage with national statistical systems, thus preventing their use for producing reliable vital statistics. Consequently, alternative data sources such as censuses and sample surveys are then used to obtain these statistics. |

عقد الاجتماع الأول للجنة الفنية يومي 16 و 17 كانون الثاني/يناير 2008 بحضور كبار المسؤولين من الدول الأعضاء في اللجنة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لغربي آسيا (الإسكوا). وبعد أن أقر المشاركون جدول الأعمال وتنظيم الأعمال المقترحين، تم استعراض مسودة صلاحيات اللجنة الفنية وأبدى المشاركون ملاحظاتھم وأدخلوا بعض التعديلات على ھذه المسودة. |
