The Arab Council for Childhood and Development is an Arab non-governmental development organization that has a legal entity and operates in the field of childhood and related areas, including child care and development, in the Arab world. The Council was founded in 1987 on the initiative of Prince Talal Bin Abdul Aziz, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the League of Arab States at a conference on childhood and development that was held in Tunisia in 1986. The Council is headquartered in Cairo. The Council’s relationship is governed by a special agreement that defines its identity and legal status.
