Capacity Development for Climate Change Negotiations for the Arab Countries, 7th Regional Training Workshop |
The workshop, organized by ESCWA in partnership with LAS, UNEP/ROWA, UNESCO and the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to enhance the understanding of the Arab negotiators of the Paris Agreement, its means of implementation and to coordinate the Arab position for the upcoming COP22 meeting. |

3rd August, 2018, Beirut — In a signing ceremony today between the Ambassador of Italy, Massimo Marotti, and the UN Under Secretary General, and ESCWA Executive Secretary, Mohamed Ali Alhakim, a new project was launched that will empower women refugees from Syria and vulnerable women and girls in host communities to play an active role in improving their lives and advocating for their rights. |

ESCWA Convened the Fourteenth Session of its Committee on Transport |
The Jordanian Capital, Amman, hosted the 14th Session of its Committee on Transport on 9 and 10 October 2013. Minister of Transport in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Lina Chbib inaugurated the meeting, which was attended by specialists in diverse transport and legislation-related areas from ESCWA member countries, alongside representatives of several relevant regional and international bodies. |
