Executive Secretary Visits Former Prime Minister |
Beirut, 21 August 2017 (Communication and Information Unit) -- United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCWA Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim today visited former Prime Minister Najib Mikati in his Beirut office. Both sides discussed priority issues in the Arab region, namely the reconstruction of Syria and ESCWA activities in this regard. Hakim had visited on 18 August 2017 Minister of Economy and Trade, Raed Khoury, accompanied by ESCWA Chief of Modeling and Forecasting Section Mohamed Hedi Bchir. |

UAE Ambassador Pays Farewell Visit to UN-ESCWA |
UN-ESCWA Executive-Secretary, Bader Omar AlDafa, on Monday 20 October received the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Lebanon, Muhammad Soueidi, who paid a farewell visit to UN-ESCWA. Both parties discussed UN-ESCWA activities, and cooperation between the Commission and UAE.

Saudi Ambassador Visits ESCWA |
ESCWA Executive Secretary Bader AlDafa today received Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awwad Osseiri, who is visiting the Regional Commission's quarters.
Both parties discussed ESCWA activities and common projects between the Commission and Saudi Arabia. AlDafa had paid an official visit to KSA on 23-26 March 2009 to meet with officials and discuss means of common cooperation. |

Quarterly Inflation Monitor |
The Quarterly Inflation Monitor is an interactive dashboard that allows users to access to inflation data by COICOP expenditure group on a quarterly and year on year basis. This tool allows users to select and graphically view and monitor the fluctuations in inflation for each ESCWA Arab country over several years, as well as cross compare inflation data from country to another. |
