6 September 2017	Executive Secretary Receives Chief Executive Officer of CAUS	United Nations Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Mohamed Ali Alhakim received on Tuesday 05 September 2017 Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Arab Unity Studies (CAUS) Khair El-Din Haseeb and the Centre’s Director General Luna Abu Swaireh at the UN House in Beirut. Following the meeting Abu Swaireh said discussions focused on partnership between ESCWA and the Centre in the fields of Economy, Development and Research.
17 July 2018	Workshop on Planning for Population and Housing Censuses By Using Technology in selected Arab countries	The workshop aims at developing the comprehensive census framework for countries in difficult circumstances (Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Sudan and Libya), including the plan of action, timetable, estimated budget, census structure, use of geographic information systems in various census stages, data collection using tablets and modern means, and to benefit from the experiences of countries which have successfully conducted censuses using such technologies.

5 December 2014	Training for Palestine Standards Institution on Standardization	A series of training courses for the staff of the Palestine Standards Institution (PSI) were held in Ramallah between 21 and 28 August 2005. The courses aimed at enhancing knowledge among PSI personnel on different concepts and practices of standardization, and on different models of standardization in Europe and the USA, ISO/IEC.

17 February 2017	Capacity Building workshop on Women Political Participation and Political Empowerment	ESCWA plays a leading role in assisting member states to translate global commitments to reality, among such commitments the pledge to advance women issues and to empower women socially economically and politically. Against such backdrops the ESCWA Centre for Women is providing technical support to the council of women in Lebanon, with the aim of advancing their capacities and the capacity of local NGOs and Civil society organizations, on issues of gender equality, political participation and economic empowerment of women.
