The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA ), in collaboration with UN Agencies, custodians of SDG indicators, is organizing a series of webinars on selected SDG indicators that are less produced in the Arab region to create a common understanding among data producers on how to collect, measure and disseminate SDG indicators to increase data production and enhance national data flow to policy makers, other users and custodian agencies. The workshop is organized by ESCWA and GIZ, under the Patronage of His Excellency, Dr. Hussein Al Hajj Hassan, Minister of Agriculture of Lebanon.
The objectives of the workshop are to:

ESCWA Director of Information and Communication Technology Division Haidar Fraihat will hold a press conference at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 28 November 2012 to launch the Information Economy Report 2012 entitled: “The Software Industry and Developing Countries” at ESCWA Headquarters, Riad Solh, Beirut. First Information Technology Officer at ESCWA Rami Zaatari will highlight the main findings of this year’s report with a focus on the Arab region. |

ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) Board of Governors , 8th Meeting |
The 8th Meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) of the ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) is taking place in Amman, Jordan on the 15th of November 2018. The Board is comprised of official representatives from 13 Arab countries. During the Board meeting, the implemented work program of ETC during 2017/2018 will be presented. The work program includes organization of intergovernmental and expert group meetings, and publication of several technical studies and reports. |

The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) and the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), in collaboration with the Jordan Department of Statistics (DOS), organized a regional workshop on Integrating a Gender Statistics in the Production of Statistics. This regional workshop is intended to train national statisticians on the production and use of gender statistics, as well as discuss the newly developed UN manual: Integrating a Gender Perspective into Statistics. |
