The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), at its twenty-eighth session held in Tunis from 15 to 18 September 2014, adopted resolution 320 (XXVIII) on redesignating the Technical Committee as the “Executive Committee” and amending its terms of reference, so that it may play a greater role in steering and coordinating all ESCWA activities, pursuant to a recommendation made by the Technical Committee at its eighth  meeting, held in Amman from 10 to 12 December 2013.

Resource mobilization dynamics in the diversified ESCWA region are not uniform. In that sense, this study presents an empirical and analytical survey of the savings and investment climates in the ESCWA region by means of analyzing conditions in the region and comparing them to those in other developing countries. Furthermore, the study explores economic policy options available to policymakers with regard to enhancing economic growth and income in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

   This document is the participant’s file prepared in the context of the training workshop entitled “Modern Human Resource Management”, which included the program of meetings and details on all the specific themes examined. The workshop aims at introducing participants to the human resource planning in unstable conditions and enabling methods that help assess individuals’ performance and develop their capacities and motivation to work.
