High Level Meeting and Regional Seminar on the Implementation of 2008 SNA and Supporting Statistics in the Arab Region |
The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and UNSD are cooperating to initiate the formulation of a national strategy and implementation programme for the 2008 SNA and supporting system-wide socio-economic statistics, in collaboration with the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), and the Statistics Department of the league of Arab States (LAS). The main objective of the initiative is strengthening the national statistical system (NSS) for improved policy making with the support of high policy-making in the Arab region. |

The ninth session of the ESCWA Committee on Energy will begin on 12 June 2013 at 10:00AM in the Regency Hotel of Kuwait City with the participation of representatives from member countries specialized in the field of Energy. The election of the session’s officers will follow in accordance with the Arabic alphabetical order employed by the United Nations, whereby Libya will assume the chairmanship of the Session, Lebanon and Egypt the vice-chairmanship and Morocco the role of rapporteur. |
