Empowerment, Inclusiveness and Equality as Pathways to Peace and Sustainable Development in the Arab region |
Increasing evidence shows that policies that are not grounded in the principles of inclusiveness, empowerment and equality can have harmful impacts on the communities and exacerbate tensions and conflict. The meeting will aim to unpack the principles of inclusiveness, empowerment and equality, how they relate to sustainable development and peace building in conflict settings. |

ESCWA ES meets Lebanese Minister of Women Affairs |
During last Friday visit paid by ESCWA Executive Secretary Mohamed Ali Alhakim to the Lebanese Minister of State for Women's Affairs Jean Ogassapian, the two sides discussed the possibility of setting a framework aimed to increase the technical cooperation provided by ESCWA. The two sides also agreed on launching a first model of a national strategy against Gender Based Violence (GBV) that ESCWA will implement in partnership with the ministry and in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Lebanon. |
