26 February 2015	Survey of Economic and Social Developments in the Arab Region 2013-2014	How severely has the political, security and humanitarian crisis escalated in Iraq, Libya, Palestine and Syria? To what extent does it negatively affect neighboring countries? Are the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) maintaining a stable economic recovery? What are the financing gaps in the region? And what role does the regional economic integration occupy in the Arab region? All these questions will be answered in the Survey conducted by ESCWA during a press conference held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday 19 November 2014, at the UN-House, Riad El Solh Square, Beirut.

28 June 2019	Lebanese Minister May Chidiac opens ESCWA workshop on open government and emerging technologies	Beirut, Lebanon, 2-4 July 2019 What: Under the patronage and the presence of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform in Lebanon May Chidiac, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing a three-day regional workshop on “Open Government and Emerging Technologies in the Arab Region”.
11 December 2014	Doha School Hosts Water Day in Cooperation with the UN Information Centre	Tuesday 24 May 2011 (UN Information Centre) – In cooperation with the UN Information Centre (UNIC) in Beirut, Doha School is organizing a “Water Day” this coming Friday 27 may 2011, from 9:30 AM until 5:00 PM at the school premises. The Day opens at 9:30 AM with statements by UNIC Director Bahaa Elkoussy, and Doha School Principal Nabil Al Jurdi. Afterwards, a short film will be projected on water risks in Lebanon. The opening ceremony wraps up with the declaration of student recommendations on water issues.

11 December 2014	ESCWA Launches Publication on Promises of Arab Spring	In the presence of civic activists, civil society organizations, academics, social researchers, local leaders and politicians from Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, Tunisia, Syria, Libya, Morocco, Egypt, and Yemen, ESCWA launched today its new publication entitled “Promises of Spring: Citizenship and Civic Engagement in Democratic Transitions”. The launching ceremony opened with a welcome note by Director of the ESCWA Social Development Division Frederico Neto, followed by a presentation on the said study by Chief of the Participatory Development Section Maha Yehya.
