5 December 2014	Taskforce Meeting on 2010 Population and Housing Censuses	At its six session held in October 2004, the Statistical Commission called on ESCWA to form ‎a regional taskforce to coordinate efforts in relation to the planning of next round of population ‎and housing censuses. Later, the United Nations Statistics Division adopted in March 2005 a ‎resolution on the 2010 World Population and Housing Census Programme, to be ‎implemented from 2005 to 2014. The goal of the Word Programme is three fold: ‎ Agree on a set of accepted international principles and recommendations governing the ‎conduct of population and housing censuses; ‎
11 December 2014	ESCWA Technology Centre Launches Commercialization Tour	Beirut, 21 June 2012 (ESCWA Communication and Information Unit)— The Amman based ESCWA Technology Centre launched a “Commercialization Tour,” which it organized in cooperation with Talal Abu Ghazaleh International, El Hassan Business Park in Jordan, and Licensing Executives Society in the Arab Countries.
11 December 2014	Exchange Visit of Environmental Knowledge between Palestine and Tunisia under the Patronage of ESCWA Concludes with MoU	Under the patronage of ESCWA, a senior delegation from the Palestinian Ministry of Environmental Affairs visited the Tunisian Ministry of Environment from 22 to 26 April 2013, to have an insight on the Tunisian approach to environmental management and exchange information in this area. The visit concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), between both ministries at the headquarters of the Tunisian Ministry of Environment-Tunis, in the presence of ESCWA Sustainable Development and Productivity Division Director Roula Majdalani.
20 May 2015	The Demographic Profile of the Arab Countries	This issue of The Demographic Profile of the Arab Countries examines the trends in population size, growth and distribution in the 22 countries of the Arab region, highlights the course of fertility and mortality transitions, and discusses the implications of fertility transition on the population age structure during the period 1980-2050. It also studies the levels and trends in international migration during the period 1990-2010 with particular reference to labor migration.
9 March 2020	Workshop on Enhancing transboundary water cooperation in the MENA region	The workshop was jointly organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), as part of the regional project “Making water cooperation happen in the Mediterranean” (aka the Water Matchmaker Project), with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
