22 July 2020	Workshop on “Good food manufacturing and hygiene practices and hygiene requirements for food storage”	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)” Project, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in partnership with the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), and the Arab Federation for Food Industries (AFFI), is organizing a capacity-building workshop on “Good food manufacturing and hygiene practices and hygiene requirements for food storage”. This workshop will build the scientific and technical capacities of REGEND’s beneficiaries, on good food manufacturing and hygiene practices through a simplified scientific and distinctive approach integrating lectures, exercises, and practical training.

29 July 2020	Towards a Common Arab Regional Job Competencies Framework for Senior Public Servants within the Context of Agenda 2030 and Public Policy	Arab countries are committed to enhancing the effectiveness of their public institutions. They are allocating resources to improve the quality of services provided to citizens. Developing job competencies for civil servants falls within that line, namely to enhance the attainment of the 2030 Development Goals and implement public policy. A group of experts in human resources management and other related specializations serving in various Arab public sector entities, have developed a Common Arab Regional Job Competencies Framework for Senior Public Servants within the Context of Agenda 2030 and Public Policy.
