Arab IGF Process – Phase I: 2012-2015 |
Participants in the 2012 Conference and Public Consultations affirmed the need to establish the Forum and prepared an outcome document that identified the objectives of the forum, nature and mechanisms, organizational structure for its management, sources of funding and arrangements for the convening of the first annual Arab IGF in 2012. |

Arab Dialogue on Internet Governance (ArabDIG) |
The Arab Dialogue on Internet Governance (ArabDIG) is an ESCWA-LAS initiative that resulted in 2010 with the Regional Roadmap on Internet Governance and the Arab IGF process in 2012, and the launch of the AIGF2020 initiative in 2015 for the development of the Arab IGF. |

Beijing +25: Review of the Beijing Platform for Action |
On the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPFA), and based on the Economic and Social Council Resolution adopted in June 2018 (E/RES/2018/8), the five United Nations Regional Commissions have been mandated to undertake a regional review and appraisal of progress made in the implementation of the BPFA since the last review that took place five years ago. |

Regional Coordination Mechanism |
The Regional Coordination Mechanism (RCM) was established pursuant to ECOSOC Resolution 1998/46 to hold "regular interagency meetings in each of the five regions (Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America & Caribbean and Western Asia) with a view to improving coordination among the work programmes of the organizations of the United Nations system in each region". The first RCM in the Arab Region was convened by ESCWA in 1999. Since then, meetings have been held annually at the rate of one or two meetings per year. |
