The report finds that while progress may have been achieved across the entire specter of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, the fruits of development finance have not been shared evenly among both regions and countries. Progress in financing sustainable development is yet to materialize as initially contemplated through the Addis Ababa Action Agenda and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. |

While 2010 was, for ESCWA member countries, a year of recovery from the effects of the global financial crisis, in 2011 the continued global economic recession and the popular movements in some Arab countries led to a downturn in economic growth rates in most member countries. These challenges and changes have placed added pressure on member countries to implement the commitments set out in the 2002 Monterrey Consensus of the International Conference on Financing for Development and reaffirmed in 2008. |

Identifying the Legislative Gaps that Need to Be Filled for the Application of Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security in Selected Arab States |
This regional study examines the legislative and policy requirements for the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 in seven Arab states, namely Tunisia, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, and Yemen. The study concluded that most of these states have indeed established the needed institutions for the advancement of women and human rights broadly speaking. The study also proposes a range of recommendations on the responsibility of states in the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325. |
