Beirut-Amman, 8 February 2019 (ESCWA)--Approaches to implement the environmental dimension of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Palestine and appropriate tools to monitor the progress in the implementation of environment related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were recently discussed in Amman with Palestinian experts.
 

UN-ESCWA is organizing the “Arab Regional Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development: Strategies, Policies and Plans”, which will be held in cooperation with the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, the CAMRE Technical Secretariat and UNEP/ROWA at the Hilton Hotel, Abu Dhabi, on 1 February, following the International Conference on Integrated Sustainable Energy Resources in Arid Regions, held between 28 and 31 January 2007.

ESCWA has recently contributed to an international forum, which gathered high-level delegations and leading energy experts to explore how to drive change; how to drive the need for regional cooperation and planning, and the imperative of nexus solutions as part of implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

– In collaboration with the UN Statistics Department, (UNSD), UN-ESCWA (Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) is organizing a workshop on “Data Compilation and Application of Methodological Concepts”, at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Amman, Jordan between 28 October and 2 November 2007. The workshop, which will open on Sunday 28 October at 09:00 am, is geared towards updating the capabilities of officers in the implementation of the concepts and definitions in collecting, processing and disseminating international merchandize trade statistics.
