11 December 2014	Kuwait to Host UN-ESCWA Meeting on International Goods Transport Facilitation	Under the auspices of Kuwaiti Minister of Transport Maasouma Saleh Al Mubarak, UN-ESCWA, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport, is holding a national workshop on International Goods Transport Facilitation in Kuwait that will take place at the General Directorate of Customs, Shuweikh, on 29 November 2006. This meeting is part of the United Nations Development Account project “Capacity-Building through Cooperation in Developing Inter-Regional Land and Land-Cum-Sea Transport Linkages”.

12 November 2018	ESCWA training on Democratic Governance paves way for improved participation	Beirut, 9 November 2018 (Communication and Information Unit)--Several Arab countries suffer from unproductive economies, rising inequality, inefficient public institutions and the absence of meaningful citizen participation. In line with its mandate to support member States to reach effective governance and capable institutions, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) concluded a three-day workshop on “Building Capacities for Partnership in Democratic Governance.”

11 December 2014	ESCWA holds regional workshop on Arabic Domain Names and Internet Governance	ESCWA is organizing a regional workshop on Arabic Domain Names and Internet Governance on 14 November 2009 at the Savoy Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The meeting tackles important topics related to the Arabic domain names in general and the “.arab” top-level domain, which will be established in 2010, in addition to issues associated with critical Internet resources and cyber security.
