11 December 2014	LBCI Condemns Attacks Over Transmission Facilities	UNESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy today received a letter by the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI) condemning the Israeli attack over the station’s transmission sites, which took place on 21 July 2006, and resulted in “killing one of its employees manning one of these facilities and injuring 2 others.” The Corporation asked Tallawy to transmit its condemnation to international references.

11 December 2014	AlDafa Visits Hariri’s Tomb Tomorrow Tribute to the Man who Brought ESCWA Back to Beirut	On the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the UN Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Bader AlDafa visits the tomb of late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri tomorrow Tuesday, 21 July 2009, at 11:30 AM. The visit is a tribute to the man who brought ESCWA’s headquarters back to Beirut, its official and permanent seat. The UN Information Service kindly requests news media to grant this visit the highlight it deserves.
12 August 2015	Change Management in Public Sector Reform in Iraq	"Change Management in Public Sector Reform in Iraq" was the title of the capacity development workshop held by ESCWA in Istanbul, Turkey, from 20 to 28 April 2015. It was organized in collaboration with the Lebanese Institutes des Finances Basil Fuleihan within the framework of the Iraq Public Sector Modernization (IPSM) Programme of the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) which has been supporting the public sector reform agenda of the country, such as decentralization, service delivery, and capacity development.
11 December 2014	King of Jordan Meets ESCWA Executive Secretary	King Abdullah II of Jordan met the UN Under-Secretary General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf and congratulated her on assuming her new position. During the meeting, the Jordanian monarch hailed ESCWA efforts in supporting programs and plans to achieve human, economic and social development in Western Asia, especially in the Arab region, citing areas where cooperation between Jordan and ESCWA could be strengthened and increased.
11 December 2014	Star Academy 2006 to Visit UNESCWA Friday	The popular contestants of Star Academy 2006 will be visiting UNESCWA headquarters in Beirut at 2pm, Friday 5 May 2006. Their visit begins with a meeting with UNESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy followed by a press conference to launch the musical concert they plan to hold at the UNESCO Palace as part of the side events of the UNESCWA 24th Ministerial Session.
3 August 2017	Executive Secretary Visits Former Head of State	Beirut, 3 August 2017 (Communication and Information Unit) -- United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCWA Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim visited on 2 August 2017 former Lebanese President Amin Gemayel in his office in Bikfaya. Al-Hakim took over his functions at the helm of ESCWA last May.
