Supported by ESCWA, the Lebanese Ministry of Environment and the UN Development Program (UNDP), IPT Energy Centre (IPTEC) launched today the “National Campaign for Air Pollution Reduction in Lebanon through Efficient Use in Land Transportation” . The event was held under the patronage of Lebanese Minister of Environment Nazem Khoury at the Ministry premises. In addition to the minister, speakers included Roula Majdalani, ESCWA Director of Sustainable Development and Productivity Division (SDPD) and IPTEC President Toni Issa.

Monday 27 November, at 9:00am: Lebanese Minister of State for Administrative Reform Dr. Inaya Ezzeddine will open the Regional Forum on “National Knowledge and Technology Development and Transfer Systems.”
 

ESCWA is collaborating with renowned Lebanese actress Carmen Lebbos on the issue of Road Safety through a series of events and awareness campaigns. The partnership kicks off with the participation of Lebbos in the upcoming Launch of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2010- 2011, to be held under the auspices of caretaker Lebanese Minister of Interior Ziad Baroud on Tuesday 17 May at the UN House in Beirut.

Under the title “Partnering for Knowledge”, Academia Lebanon organized on 19-20 November 2014 the 24th International Convention on Higher Education at UNESCO palace in Beirut. An exhibition was held for schools and universities, which caught the attention of hundreds of students. This forum is the first of its kind to deal with the exchange of thoughts and methods, and the formulation of new initiatives and projects so as to integrate the regional education market in an increasingly challenging global environment.
