11 December 2014	Cairo to host UN-ESCWA Meeting on Harnessing Technology for Enhanced Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Productivity and Competitiveness	UN-ESCWA (The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia), in partnership with the Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF), holds an expert group meeting on “Harnessing Technology for Enhanced Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Productivity and Competitiveness” on 3 and 4 November 2007 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Mirage City in Cairo, Egypt. The expert group meeting will be held concurrently and complementarily with the ASTF “Made in the Arab World” Competition finals, scheduled to open at 9:00 AM on Saturday 3 November.
11 December 2014	Arab Integration: A 21st Century Development Imperative	“Arab Integration: A 21st Century Development Imperative” is the name of the flagship report produced by ESCWA in preparation for the upcoming Arab Economic Forum set to be held in Tunisia early next year. To launch the report, the Carnegie Middle East Centre is organizing a panel at 9:30 AM tomorrow Tuesday, at the Pheonicia Intercontinental Hotel, Beirut. The panel, which will gather leading thinkers from the Arab region, will be opened by former Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf.
26 June 2019	Executive Secretary receives Saudi Ambassador in Beirut	Beirut, 26 June 2019 (ESCWA)--United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Rola Dashti, today received Saudi Ambassador in Beirut Waleed Abdullah Bukhari on top of a delegation. Discussions revolved around issues of mutual concern. Following the meeting, Ambassador Bukhari highlighted that discussions focused on mutual cooperation and on supporting the mission of ESCWA across the Arab region.

30 August 2017	Executive Secretary Meets Lebanese Minister of State for Planning	ESCWA Executive Secretary Mohamed Ali Alhakim visited on 29 August 2017 Lebanese Minister of State for Planning, Michel Pharaon, at the top of a delegation comprising his Special Assistant Mohanad Al-Musawi, Chief of Economic Development and Poverty Section Khaled Abu-Ismail and Chief of Economic Governance and Planning Ahmed Kamaly. During the meeting, Pharaon stressed the importance of the presence of ESCWA in Beirut and its role at the service of the governments of the region.
