24 April 2017	ESCWA Concludes 12th Session of Statistics Committee	On 4 and 5 April ESCWA held the 12th session of its Statistical, at the UN House, Beirut. The meeting launched the first Arabic-language Gender Statistics Toolkit and eLearning module. The opening session of the meeting saw two statements by Director of the ESCWA Statistics Division Juraj Riecan and President of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) Ola Awad, delivered on her behalf by PCBS Director General a.i Muhammad Al Omari.

11 December 2014	European University Students Visit ESCWA	A group of students visiting Lebanon from various universities in Europe on 6 August called on ESCWA where they were briefed about the UN Regional Commission and welcomed by several of its senior officials. The students' tour began with a stop at ESCWA’s Library, where they received an overview about its books, publications and documents. The European students also had a chance to see ESCWA's reproduction house where most of the Commission’s publications are produced.

11 December 2014	Arab Awakening Inevitable -UN Meeting Tackles Challenges to Democratization	Monday, 16 January 2012 (United Nation Information Service) – Participants in ESCWA’s high-level meeting on “Reform and Transitions to Democracy” in Beirut have tackled issues related to challenges facing Arab countries as a result of regional awakening. They highlighted the danger of sacrificing civil and human rights in the name of security and regional stability and emphasized the significance of civic values as the only means to confront communal divisions and the obstruction of transitions to democracy.
