13 November 2019	Training Workshop on the Application of Successful National Practices for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables	Within the framework of implementing the project on “Promoting Food and Water Security through Cooperation and Capacity Development in the Arab Region”, ESCWA and partner organizations are aiming to enhance capacity for efficient, safe and quality food production through the adoption and use of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) for a responsible, effective and efficient food value chain.

4 May 2020	Electricity Interconnection in the Arab Region	The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) jointly with the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) and the League of Arab States (LAS), is organizing an online event to discuss the Arab regional energy interconnection within the context of global transformation of the energy systems. Experts from Asia and the Arab countries will join to discuss the following topics: - Challenges and opportunities in the Arab electricity market - Arab region progress in SDG7 and pathway toward sustainable energy systems

3 December 2020	Executive Committee, Seventh Meeting	The Executive Committee was established pursuant to ESCWA resolution 320 (XXVIII), which amended the terms of reference of the Technical Committee, redesignating it and increasing its executive role within ESCWA. The Executive Committee plays an important role in steering and coordinating the Commission’s activities, tracking the implementation of recommendations and following up on important regional and global issues. It held its sixth meeting in Marrakech, Morocco, on 15 and 16 June 2019.
