5 December 2014	Task Force on Population and Housing Censuses in the ESCWA Region, 6th Meeting	The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) with support of the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) organized the sixth meeting of the Task Force on Population and Housing Censuses, Round 2010 in Beirut from 1 to 3 December 2009. The meeting aimed at discussing the Arabic translated version of the “Principles and Recommendations for Population and Housing Censuses, Revision 2” (PRPHCR2), making necessary modifications, exchanging relevant successful experiences and expertise among ESCWA member countries and discussing the future plan of the Task Force.

5 December 2014	Technical Committee, 6th	The Secretariat of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) has prepared the proposed organization of work of the sixth meeting of the Technical Committee in order to facilitate the consideration of the agenda items within the time limitations. The Committee will be presented with the proposed organization of work enclosed in this document and shall adopt it in that or an amended form.
4 March 2016	Promoting market-driven access to modern energy services in the Arab rural regions	The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia organized on 18-19 April 2016 a two-day expert group meeting at the UN-House in Beirut, under the theme “Promoting market-driven access to modern energy services in the Arab rural regions”. The expert group meeting was organized and implemented by the Sustainable Development Policies Division to provide a fresh drive and innovative thinking on the topic of appropriate green energy technology access in rural areas in the Arab region, with a special focus on the rural productive sectors.
