1 June 2021	Training workshop for rural women on "Financial Management, Accounting, and the Economic Benefits of Access to Sustainable & Secure Energy"	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)” Project, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in partnership with the Municipality of Akkar Al-Atika, is organizing a capacity-building workshop on “Financial Management, Accounting, and the Economic Benefits of Access to Sustainable and Secure Energy”. This workshop will build the capacities of the rural women in Akkar Al-Atika in the fields of financial management, accounting, cost accounting, and pricing of rural products. The workshop will also demonstrate the economic benefits of sustainable and secure energy, and its positive impact on rural development in Lebanon.

29 July 2019	National Meeting on Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Development in the Rural Context: The Role of Renewable Energy	In the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in rural areas of the Arab region (REGEND)” project, the UN-Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) is organizing a National Meeting on “Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Development in the Rural Context: The Role of Renewable Energy”. The objective of this meeting is sharing experiences and formulating gender mainstreaming and human rights strategy and action plans to support policy makers, government and local institutions in operationalizing a gender equality and human rights approach in the energy sector in Arab countries.
20 January 2017	Workshop on Deployment of Carbon Capture, Use and Storage in the Arab region, Challenges and Opportunities	To explore the challenges and the opportunities for Carbon capture , use and storage (CCUS) and examine the side effects of this technology for the Arab region.
