5 December 2014	Regional Workshop on Pro-poor Urban Development Strategies in the Arab Region	In the context of enhancing joint cooperation in addressing the challenges of sustainable development, in particular those resulting from rapid urbanization and the resulting high rates of urban poverty in many countries, ESCWA, in cooperation with the Arab Towns Organization (ATO), organized a regional workshop on Pro-poor urban development strategies in the Arab region on 15 May 2013 in Doha, Qatar.

5 December 2014	Workshop on "Regional Mapping and Policy Guidelines of Green Productive Sectors in the Arab Region"	ESCWA is leading a Development Account project entitled “Strengthening national capacities in the ESCWA region on developing green production sectors”, and is implementing it jointly with the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and a series of national public and private institutions.

In the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small – Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)”, the finalization of the selection of the local community and the establishment of the Local Facilitating Team (LFT) in Jordan necessitates a Focus Group Meeting. The objective of the meeting is to finalize the assessment phase and the selection of the local community where the project activities will be undertaken as well to establish the Local Facilitation Team (LFT) in Jordan and the selection of its members.
