The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) held its first consultative meeting on “Food Security Assessment and Monitoring in the Arab Region” on 11 and 12 April 2017 at the UN House in Beirut.
 

The Statistics Division at ESCWA together with the Arab Institute for Training and Research in statistics (AITRS), in collaboration with the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), conducted a joint regional workshop on National Accounts and the development of Economic Statistics Infrastructur

On 4 and 5 April ESCWA held the 12th session of its Statistical, at the UN House, Beirut. The meeting launched the first Arabic-language Gender Statistics Toolkit and eLearning module.
