Definition:
This technique can be characterized as withholding all disclosive cells from publication, which means that their value is not shown in the table, but replaced by a symbol such as ‘×’ to indicate the suppression. According to the definition of disclosive cells, in frequency count tables all cells containing small counts and in tables of magnitudes all cells containing small counts or representing cases of dominance have to be primary suppressed.

قد تتميّز هذه التقنية بحجبها كلّ الخلايا الكاشفة عن النشر، مما يعني أنّ قيمتها لا تظهر في الجدول، لكنّها تستبدل برمز مثل x للاشارة إلى الالغاء. وفقًا لتعريف الخلايا الكاشفة، في جداول تعداد التكرار، كلّ الخلايا تتضمّن تعدادات صغيرة وفي جداول المقادير، كل الخلايا تتضمّن تعدادات صغيرة أو تمثّل حالات سيطرة يجب أن يتمّ محوها.
