Every year, the partners of ESCWA from governmental and non-governmental organizations, media, educational and scientific foundations await the launch of the “Survey of Economic and Social Developments in the Arab Region”. It is a report intended to assess the Arab economies in the global context of economic events that took place recently and also to address pressing policy agenda in the region by a theme-based in-depth research.
This year’s survey, which will be launched by ESCWA Chief Economist and Director, Economic Development and Globalization Division, Abdallah Al Dardari on Tuesday, the 1st of October 2013 at 13:00 (1:00 PM) from the UN House, Riad El-Solh Square, Beirut, comes amid accelerating political, economic and social changes in the Arab region and amid dangerous crises, particularly the Syrian conflict, which have started to overshadow the societies of the region.
The ESCWA Communication and Information Unit (ECIU) invites media institutions to take part in the press conference and submit the names of their delegates by Monday 30 October 2013 on the following numbers: 76-046402 or 03-910930 or 70-993144.
