ESCWA Executive Secretary Mohamad Ali Alhakim has recommended strengthening mutual cooperation between ESCWA and the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development in programs of joint interest, especially those related to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
 
Mr. Alhakim’s statement came after his visit last Friday to Member of Parliament Bahia Hariri in her Beirut downtown office. Discussions between them focused on the situation in Lebanon and the region, as well as on a tour d’horizon related to development issues and local community capacity building.
 
MP Hariri also wished the Executive Secretary success at the helm of his functions, stressing the importance of the role of ESCWA in achieving the objectives of the United Nations specifically in the field of development, which also meet the objectives and work of the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development. 
 
The meeting was also attended by the Executive Secretary’s Special Assistant Mohanad Al-Musawi as well as by the Foundation’s Executive Director Rubina Abu-Zainab and External Relations Officer Dima El-Hasan.
