UN-ESCWA is inviting applications for a call for proposals on Promoting Renewable Energy (RE) Investments in the Context of Climate Change Mitigation and Sustainable Development. All institutions, civil societies and the private sector of member countries are invited to submit their proposals by 1 March 2016, to be included in the ESCWA RE investment projects pipeline. At least 10 projects will be retained as part of a capacity building project the Commission is implementing, which aims at enhancing RE investments in member countries in the context of climate change mitigation.

The project seeks to promote investments in RE through strengthening national capacities in attracting private investments in the RE area and specifically in developing economically, environmentally, socially and financially viable projects.
