The Association of Industries was first established in 1922 by visionary entrepreneurs from the Egyptian business community. In 1958 an industry organizing law created an organizational link between the Federation and the Ministry of Industry. In 1981 witnessed the official Presidential decree calling for the regulation of elections within the Federation.

أنشىء اتحـاد الصناعات المصرية لأول مرة في عام 1922 تحت اسم جمعية الصناعات بالقطر المصري. وفي عام 1947 تحول إلى اتحاد الصناعات المصرية بقرار وزارى. في عام 1958 صدر قانون التنظيم الصناعى الذى حول الاتحاد والغرف الصناعية إلى مؤسسات عامة. وصدر القرار الجمهورى المنظم لانتخابات اتحاد الصناعات المصرية عام 1981.
