In line with its efforts to promote the environmental component of the 2030 Agenda in its member countries, ESCWA organized a Workshop for Palestinian officials on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) in Palestine. This Workshop is based on a request received by ESCWA from the Environment Quality Authority (EQA) of Palestine, whereby asking for ESCWA’s technical support on the subject.
 
The Workshop targeted members of the national committee for environmental assessment, which is led by the Environment Quality Authority of Palestine, in addition to senior and technical officials of EQA. The Workshop is expected to strengthen participants’ capacity on planning a SEA by applying standard methodological approaches to support the decision-making process for environmental management. This will be done while taking into consideration the integration of environmental inter-linkages with socioeconomic factors.
