Workshop on the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda on SDG’s, and its Alignment with National Development Plans

The Centre for Women in the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in cooperation with UN-Women, provide technical support to the Jordanian National Committee for women through conducting a training workshop on implementing sustainable development agenda 2030 and its alignment with national development plans. In this regard, a workshop is held at the national level in Jordan targeting the members of the gender mainstreaming and gender equality team, which is one of the sectoral task forces within the Supreme National Committee for sustainable development in Jordan, as well as members of civil society organizations working on the advancement of women.
The workshop aimed to inform participants on international frameworks for the advancement of women and to consider common goals and overlaps among them, and to start working on integrating sustainable development targets and indicators in national plans, especially the fifth objective on gender equality.
The workshop includes the sharing of experience and knowledge, developed during the years 2016 -2017 through the work of ESCWA Subcommittee on gender and SDG’s, which emanated from the recommendations of the Committee on Women at its seventh session
