Within the "Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening of Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works" in Iraq program implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) – Iraq, the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing a six-day Training of Trainers Workshop on Decentralization of Service Delivery in Amman, Jordan from 8 till 13 March 2008.
The objective of the TOT is to build the capacity of selected trainers who will in turn disseminate the skills and information to their peers through in-house trainings, with a particular emphasis on the staff of the newly established training centers at the governorate levels.  It is expected that the beneficiaries of this training will become able to develop and lead training initiatives. 
The training module will focus on improving the skills of the participants with regard to managing training programs, methodologies and techniques, disseminating knowledge and introducing management solutions related to decentralization of service delivery.  The TOT will also introduce participants to modern training techniques, including but not limited to role play, motivational exercises, interactive presentations, etc.
