The Expert Group Meeting on the “Potential of Manufacturing RE Equipment in the Arab Region” was organized by ESCWA within MENAREC-6 and in collaboration with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The meeting was attended by more than 50 participants from the Arab countries, in addition to representatives from regional and international organizations. The meeting discussed the potential of promoting the manufacturing and localization of appropriate renewable energy technologies in the Arab region, with the perspective of exploring the scope for strengthening intra-regional linkages. The report provided below also summarizes ESCWA activities during MENAREC-6.
