The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing in partnership with the European School of Governance (EUSG) a follow-up workshop on the Parmenides Eidos Think Tools in Beirut, Lebanon from 17 till 19 March 2009.  The Parmenides Eidos Think Tools is a planning and programming software based on an innovative approach to visual reasoning and knowledge representation that supports the thinking and reasoning processes necessary to solve problems and establish strategic plans.

Part of the "Capacity Building of the Iraqi Public Sector Management" project, implemented in partnership with UNDP Iraq, the follow-up workshop is the second phase of the preliminary initiative implemented in January 2009 and through which ESCWA introduced 11 trainers and IT programmers from the National Center for Consultancy and Management Development (NCCMD) to the software and its applications.

Five (5) beneficiaries from the first training will take part in this follow-up session, intended to build upon the achievements and outcomes of the initial Training of Trainers workshop and aiming at enhancing both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of participants after their interface with the software in Iraq.  The beneficiaries are expected to disseminate the knowledge acquired and train trainers in Iraq on the utilization of the tool in the prospect of strengthening the capacities of the Iraqi public sector in establishing focused and results oriented plans and strategies.
