National Workshop for Sudan on Supply and Use Tables
Within the framework of the activities carried out by the Economic Statistics Section at ESCWA to enhance the capabilities of member states to monitor sustainable development goals, the ESCWA Statistics Division is organizing a workshop on Supply and Use Tables.
Among the most important benefits of building supply and use tables are improving the comprehensiveness of GDP statistics for all economic activities, improving consistency between all economic statistics and providing estimates for informal activities, as supply and use tables are the ideal framework for achieving the above-mentioned purposes, in accordance with international best practices in the field of National Accounts.
The workshop will be held from 30 November to 3 December from 11:00 - 14:00 every day, Beirut time
The workshop will focus on several theoretical and practical training sessions, the most important of which are:
- Supply and Use Tables in improving data sources
- Basic data sources to be available or developed
- Recommendations regarding supply and use tables and how to implement them
- The balance between the supply and use tables
The workshop will advocate the role of Supply and Use Tables in improving data sources and the compilation of these tables and it will discuss the main problems facing countries in the preparation of tables. The workshop will also tackle the different methods in balancing of Supply and Use Tables.
