ESCWA organized, in collaboration of the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation in Tunisia, a national workshop on drafting bilateral investment agreements during the period 30 September-04 October 2013. The purpose of this workshop was to familiarize participants from various government agencies and institutions that play a role in the negotiation of bilateral investment agreements, on how to draft various items contained in the bilateral investment agreements, drafting techniques of treaties, and understand the basic concepts in the formulation of international conventions relating to investment. The workshop also aimed to enhance the participants information through practical exercises and exchange of roles on the drafting and negotiation of bilateral investment agreements.
