The workshop aimed at conducting training for Lebanon’s Central Administration of Statistics on the use of the ICP toolkit for data entry and data validation.

ESCWA conducted a national workshop for the Lebanese price statistics team on Wednesday 11 November 2020, hosting five staff members from the Central Administration of Statistics at the UN House.

The workshop aimed at building the statistical capacities of the national price statistics team in the manipulation of household consumption price data using a special price statistics software which helps in the validation of price data and treatment of data outliers, thus improving the quality of the produced national price statistics indicators. This workshop did not only aim to improve the statistical capacities of the participants, but it was also conducted to facilitate the inclusion of Lebanon in the regional price statistics activities implemented by ESCWA, such as the annual production of purchasing power parities and the computation of harmonized regional price indices.
