The ESCWA Centre for Women, in partnership with UN-Women, the Swedish Institute in Alexandria and the Lebanese American University, organized a launch event of the publication on "The Status of Women Report: Violence against Women – What is at Stake?", at the Sursock Museum in Beirut.
The publication is part of a regional project on estimating the cost of violence against women, which ESCWA has started in 2016 in cooperation with UN-Women, and with input from the Lebanese American University. The event targeted representatives from Arab governments, National Women’s Machineries, bilateral donors, UN agencies, academia and civil society organizations at the regional level.
