The workshop continues the work of the Task Force on Islamic Finance established by Intersecretariat Working Group on National Accounts mandated from the UNSC.

The Workshop is attended by National accountants, experts from regional and international organizations and independent experts. It aims at clarifying how Islamic finance sectorization, instruments, output and value added should be treated in National Accounts. Co-organized by SESRIC, Statistics Division of ESCWA, and UNSD.

The Workshop will cover the following topics:

• Sectorization of Islamic financial corporations
• Classification of Islamic financial instruments and corresponding property income
• Calculation of output and value added of Islamic financial services
• Coordination between regional and international organizations in the collection of statistics on Islamic finance
