Following a technical advisory services request received by ESCWA Centre for Women (ECW) from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MoSAL) in Yemen, ECW is conducting a Training of Trainers workshop for staff members of the ministry on “International Framework and Mechanisms of Women, Peace and Security and Women’s Participation in the Peacebuilding Processes”, on 14 and 15 December 2018 in Amman, Jordan. 

This workshop will introduce participants to the international and regional frameworks that guarantee the protection and promotion and advancement of women’s human rights, Women Peace and Security (WPS), and women’s political participation in peacebuilding and negotiation processes. It will also reflect on the role of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Yemen in facilitating the State of Yemen’s obligations under such frameworks, and the way forward to implement the WPS agenda in Yemen.
